Let's start

About me

I am a successful entrepreneur and co-founder, with one startup exit in which I served as CTO. Within three years, our company was acquired by a publicly traded company in the San Francisco Bay Area. Instead of focusing on myself, I help, coach, mentor, and invest in others while always thinking outside the box. I can help advance your ideas because I love new technologies (like blockchain, Web3, and AI).

Coding

My coding adventure began when I was nine years old, in 1990, when my father purchased his first IBM model, the 5162. But I remember being fascinated by the machine's power. I started fiddling with the computer, even deleting my father's WordPerfect and losing all of his company's accounting numbers. And we asked an IBM engineer to come by and fix it while I stood there watching. And everything returned to normal. I realized that I needed to free up some memory so that I could play games. As a result, I began writing scripts and became interested in coding and computers.

I have moved in various directions in the IT field over the years. I was desperate for a job at IBM, and I got one, with one of my first responsibilities being to debug hardware system boards. In my spare time, I attended and hosted numerous LAN parties, experimented with networking while gaming with friends, and eventually ended up at ING Bank, where we built a large network using mainframes and other technology. What we now refer to as a cloud provider. I needed to build all of the hardware, networking, virtualization, and so on, and I wanted to automate everything, so I had to work with a variety of code languages and learn a lot of new things. Also, especially in the early days of the internet, the importance of having very good security around that.

TLDR: I want to try out anything new in technology! To learn, I take courses, attend meetups, and participate in hackathons.

Early stage investor

As a formal co-founder of a startup with a succesful exit, I understand that having a startup is like riding a rollercoaster and that you need investors who will not only give you capital. So I like the new technology thesis, and with my technical background, I understand it as well. But, as a founder, you need to pioneer and run your experiments to find that blue ocean.

Having a creative early-stage investor like me who can share his journey, knowledge, helping with experiment and share expertise to get other perspectives on your journey to find that blue ocean can be beneficial.

Growth hacking

Growth hacking is a process of rapid experimentation across marketing channels and product development to identify the most effective and efficient ways to grow a business. It is a way to find and scale successful marketing strategies based on data. The goal of growth hacking is to get a business to grow quickly and in a big way. Often, I do this by skipping over traditional marketing methods and using my creativity with new technology to find a new blue ocean strategy. Doing many experiments.
